Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Range Review

A while ago I was gifted with 3 products from the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter range by a lovely family member visiting from the US:

Moisture Retention Shampoo - £10.99
Restorative Conditioner - £10.99
Deep Treatment Masque - £12.99

We all know that Shea Moisture tends to be cheaper to buy in the States than over in the UK so this was a fab treat, as I don't know if I would have wanted to risk spending the money buying all 3 products to try together just in case my hair hated them!

Now I've spent months consistently using the products I can finally review them properly and answer the question that everyone asks when they see them on the shelf in the hair shop and tries to decide whether they can bare to part with their money or not - Are they really worth the money? Because lets face it, they're pretty pricey...

SHORT ANSWER - YES...Hell Yes! These products will give your hair life!

Now for a few more details...

Moisture Retention Shampoo
With no sulfates, parabens or nasty ingredients this shampoo makes an amazing gentle cleanser. It cleanses the hair and scalp to remove product build up and dirt without drying it out - I always feel like my hair is more smooth and moisturised after I've used it. The 3 key ingredients (Shea Butter, Shea Butter and Argan Oil) work wonders on dry, frizzy hair and get those curls poppin!

Deep Treatment Masque
This hair treatment is the perfect deep conditioner to revive dry and damaged hair. It's enriched with Argan Oil which strengthens, smooths and adds moisture to the hair. It also contains Sea Kelp extract which is a humectant, so it draws moisture to the hair and helps to retain it.

The consistency is thick so you can scoop it up in your hands and easily apply it to the hair without wasting any on the bathroom floor. It also distributes easily down the hair so you don't have to use too much, which means you can make it last and get your money's worth!

For best results cover your hair with a cap and apply light heat 30 minutes and I like to follow up with the restorative conditioner to finish.

Restorative Conditioner
I've found the ultimate detangler in this conditioner - no exaggeration, it really does work magic on my hair.  It penetrates the hair to give bouncy, moisturised curls and coils without weighing them down and a little goes a long way, so one bottle will last you a while.

The conditioner is also a 3 in 1, so you can use it as a regular conditioner and wash it out after 2-3 minutes, leave it on for longer as a deep conditioner or even use it as a leave in conditioner - winning.

Where To Buy
Lucky for us UK residents, Shea Moisture is finally now stocked in some of the biggest high street stores like Boots and Superdrug,  as well as in smaller independent stores and online sites like British Curlies and My Luxe Beauty.

My recommendation is to keep your eye out for promotional offers - I'm all about Boots 3 for 2 deals - but even if the products are full price they would still be worth a purchase! They work just as well on their own as they do together, so even if you can only afford 1 you should experience similar results... If I had to pick one I'd choose the conditioner.

I've restocked my empties already and they're now a permanent fixture in my wash day routine.

Feel free to share your thoughts on the range and if you think they're worth it in the comments.
